The main approach for exaggerating time change is a series of islands growing on the south Richmond waterfront. The sediment delivered by the river will collect and provide fresh marsh area when the break water erodes. These breakwaters are made of silicate. The weathering of silicate could aid in the storage of additional CO2 and the mitigation of ocean acidification.
Some breakwaters are coupled with installations inspired by local historical architecture. It's worth noting that the structures representing social systems appear substantial yet continue to erode, whilst the islands representing natural systems appear frail but continue to flourish.
